Helping those with Will, Find the Way.

Freedom isn’t free. Uniforms for newly commissioned Marines should be.

You Can Make A Difference.

The Challenge

After a highly competitive selection process, 4 years of managing college alongside the physical requirements of ROTC, and a grueling Officer Candidate School, these men and women have earned something that can’t be bought.

First Salute

The Salute

Following tradition, the first salute of a newly commissioned officer is “Paid For” by the officer with a silver dollar; every salute after is “Earned.”

Before a first salute is rendered, there is one more thing an officer must “Pay For.”

The Cost

More than the customary silver dollar, the required uniforms cost over $3,000, forcing many to take a pre-commissioning loan and begin their military careers, leading America’s sons and daughters. We can make a difference.

Every year, approximately 300 ROTC graduates earn the title and honor of becoming a Marine officer; with achievement comes nearly $900,000 in combined uniform expenses. That's a significant financial burden as they begin their service to our country.
